Make-up for all Seasons
When nature is awash with colour, autumn also brings with it a wide range of rich make-up tones. Find out which season – spring, summer, autumn or winter – best describes you and create your perfect make-up colour scheme.
The spring type
Soft, peachy skin tones, sometimes with light brown or golden freckles, or a medium to golden beige complexion is characteristic of the spring type; as are blue, bluish grey, green, golden green or light hazel eyes and honey, flaxen or strawberry blonde (but not ash blonde), light brown or red hair. A rule of thumb: Do not use too much contrast in your make-up. Use muted colours and avoid blue undertones! For blush or lipstick, choose apricot, peach or salmon tones; highlight your eyes with warm, golden or brown eye shadow. Soft lip-gloss enhances your natural beauty. At night, strawberry or coral reds as well as warm browns will achieve the desired effect.
The summer type
If you are a summer type, you have ash blonde hair, fair or rosy skin, with a porcelain, rosewood or light olive beige complexion. Your eyes can be light blue, green or brown. For your make-up, cool, soft colours with a blue tone will work best. The ideal colours for your blush are rosy red or wine red hues such as soft pink, fuchsia, crimson or raspberry. Enhance your eyes with light blue, silver or blue eye shadow and blue, green, grey, purple or black mascara. Colour your lips in soft red with blue undertones or rose, but avoid overly bright or frosty colours.
The autumn type
... has clear ivory or peach-coloured skin with a golden or medium beige complexion. The hair shimmers in reddish tones, ranging from copper to chestnut brown or ginger red. Dark brown, green, green brown or hazel eyes are characteristic for you – and warm, yellow- to red-based tones that complement your eye colour will make a statement. Brown, dark teal or moss green mascara create eye-popping contrasts. Reddish brown, orange red, apricot and peach are perfect colours for cheeks and lips. At night, intense red orange hues or sparkly gold tones will make your lips shine.
The winter type
Light to fair skin with light porcelain, cool sand beige or rose beige complexion, dark hair and usually deep-blue, green or dark brown eyes – these are the characteristics of the winter type. Use cool make-up colours and set contrasts with red tones. Pink, fuchsia, ruby red or bluish pink are good blush or lipstick colours; pick silvery, grey, blue or bluish pink hues for your eye and black or royal blue mascara.
