Breakfast of Champions

Who doesn’t know the situation: Your alarm clock goes off, but the bed feels so comfy! You want to linger for just a few more minutes… Then it’s your morning routine, getting dressed and out the door in a hurry! You grab a coffee-to-go and a croissant on the way to work. Unfortunately, this type of start in the morning will not exactly send your energy levels soaring. Because your breakfast determines how much energy you will have throughout the day, croissants and coffee should be the exception not the routine.

Breakfast – pure pleasure, please!
Start your day in a relaxing way by following these tips:
Save time by setting the breakfast table the night before.
Set the alarm clock a little earlier than needed and wake up without having to hurry.
A few stretches, push-ups and sit-ups will get your blood flowing and chase away any sleepiness.
Make your breakfast a leisurely celebration with your favourite ingredients.
Play stimulating music to create a happy mood.
Enjoy the precious time before the daily grind – whether alone, with a partner or as a family.

Kick-start your morning with muesli
A balanced breakfast of muesli provides the perfect energy kick in the morning. The right mix gives a man’s body everything it needs to get into high gear.

Choose cereal flakes, preferably a mix of different grains such as oat, spelt, wheat and barley, stir in some flax seed or roasted sesame seeds. The grain contains vital vitamins, minerals and fibre, as well as protein to fuel your muscles and brain. Nuts support the heart and cardiovascular system, and their minerals and vitamins can boost concentration and thinking skills.

Any type of fruit is great in muesli. In addition to potassium for building strong muscles, bananas contain fruit sugar for a happy mood. Tropical fruit will give your muesli a tasty, exotic kick; some are even higher in vitamin C than an orange. Who says muesli has to be dry? Add a shot of (low-fat) milk – and for a change, try yoghurt or kefir. Dairy products supply calcium to bones and muscles – and round off your muesli morning with a smooth, creamy taste.
