A Glamorous New Year's
Have you done all your Christmas shopping? Every year this question is eclipsed near Christmas by another question: What are you going to wear for New Year’s Eve? If you’re going out, this year you are guaranteed to be a big hit and to shine brighter than any fireworks display if you go with a glamorous and dazzling look to your chosen New Year’s Eve fest. Here are a few tips to make you shine:
Make-up
A sparkle of mystery can underscore the season’s festive theme. Strike a balance in your appearance between hidden desires and provocative glittering temptation. As with any make-up, foundation is the basis of success. Concealer hides minor skin imperfections and dark circles under the eyes. Now here comes the first trick: Apply a shimmer powder as a foundation to make your face and neckline subtly twinkle from the inside out. Rouge is not the star of the show this year; rather it visually shapes the cheekbones in muted tones. Your eyes will be the attention-grabbers this year by emphasising their individual characteristics.
Select a shimmering shade for the area around the eyes based on your eye colour: Silver for blue eyes, gold for brown and earthy metal shades for green eyes. The trendiest look is called smoky touch which consists of outlining the eye with black eyeliner or kajal. Curved eyelashes highlighted with mascara will round out your seductive look perfectly.
Go in with a bang
The lips are a lively counterpoint on New Year’s Eve. Brash shades of red drive away any tiredness and make for a sensuous promise for the coming year. Take it to the limit! Frame your lips with a slightly darker lip liner and then moisten your kissable lips with a shiny lip gloss.
Why not make your nails shine as well? Either with the same colour in glittering polish or a subtler one. You can refine your nail colour by adding a clear topcoat.
The right outfit
Glamour means emphasising your best physical attractions. This can be an attractive neckline, rounded curves or infinitely delicate extremities. Whether the cut of your outfit accentuates your front or back, whether you choose pumps or evening gloves that reach the elbow depends entirely on what your best physical assets are. In any case, don’t mix too much, instead rely on brilliant accents like fireworks against an unobtrusive background.
