YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM!
Not for wimps, but don’t worry:
Strengthening your immune system doesn’t have to mean becoming an ice swimmer in which one makes a hole in the ice – at an outdoor temperature of 3-4 C – and jumps in the water. It has been scientifically proven that such short and extreme cold stimuli not only activate your circulation, but also strengthen your immune system. Luckily, there is an easier way to activate the warm-cold stimuli. Sweat in the sauna, freeze in the shower or, at home, switch between hot and cold water in the shower. The stimulated, improved circulation ensures that your defense cells also really circulate everywhere. This helps you better fight bacteria and viruses. Strengthening your immune system is certainly not the only thing you can do to stop from getting sick in the winter.
Eating well keeps your body well
What is important throughout the entire year is especially true in the winter – what are the colorful contents of your shopping cart! Vitamins, minerals, trace elements have to be included in your diet to protect your body – the best source, of course, is fresh vegetables and fruit. In addition to fresh oranges, sallow thorn juice and potatoes, kale is an excellent supplier of vitamin C – each portion provides three times more vitamin C than the daily recommended requirement. Also, don’t underestimate the not-so-well-known vitamin B6 and the trace element selenium. Both are in whole-grain bread and they help keep your immune system strong. Those who get regular exercise outside (it doesn’t have to be ice swimming) will stay in a better mood and have an excellent chance of getting through the winter without getting sick.
